How it works

1

Find and save

The map shows free stations only. Save the convenient ones to your favourites and give them your own names.

2

Start watching

Tick the stations you want to watch right now. The app checks their status every 30–60 seconds, screen off included.

3

Get the alert and book

As soon as a connector is free you get a notification. One tap opens the operator's app to book; another opens the route.

Why it pays off

One free charge is worth about €9

An hour at a 22 kW point is about 20 kWh. At the usual public charging rates in Spain (€0.45–0.50 per kWh) that is €9–10. A single charge a month already covers the subscription.

No more staring at your phone

Free stations are usually busy. Instead of opening the operator's app again and again, let CargaFree watch for you and get on with your day.

Switches itself off

Watching stops after the first alert, and after a few hours if nothing frees up. No pointless battery drain.

What you get

Frequently asked questions

Where does the data come from?

Connector status is queried live from the charging operators' data services. Whether a station is really free is confirmed by users themselves after charging: in the app you see "FREE?" until someone confirms it, then "FREE ✓".

Does it work with every operator?

For now with the stations of one of Spain's major public charging operators. More will follow.

Does the app book for me?

No. You book and pay in the operator's app with your usual account. CargaFree alerts you and takes you there with one tap.

Does it drain the battery?

Hardly: watching checks the status of a few stations every 30–60 seconds and switches itself off after the alert or after a few hours. Turn off battery optimisation for the app; the app reminds you to.

What if I change my mind?

Cancel the subscription in Google Play at any time; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
